Choose your parties
This Christmas season resist all that you know will not be worth it so that you may indulge in things that will be worth it.
Often, so many people end up munching on chips and sweets at Christmas parties and then at the end of the day/night wonder why they ate all that. So, choose your parties and choose your treats. Choose the ones that you feel are worth it, and don`t bother eating much at the rest, or stick to snacks like raw veggies, or the "real food". Also, eat a meal before you go to the parties where you don`t want to eat so that you won`t be hungry. If you go to a party hungry, or skip a meal beforehand, you will most likely over-indulge and regret it.
Also, if you keep in mind that on special days, such as Christmas Day or New Year`s Eve, you will be indulging, restricting what you eat the rest of the time won`t seem so bad -- you`ll know that there are treats coming up and you won`t feel so restricted.
If all else fails, remind yourself of the weight gain and digestive symptoms that you will have to work on to feel better or lose that weight in January and this should deter you.
