Finish them off or throw them out!

If you celebrate Christmas, you will probably be indulging today and/or tomorrow. That''s fine --I'll be indulging as well and don't feel guilty at all. If you are going to indulge it is important to enjoy and savour! But then, get the indulgences out of the house. Finish them off, give them away or even throw them out. Many people have enough sweets and chocolates to last for weeks. And the big problem is that they DO last for weeks; treats everyday for weeks will weaken your digestive system and put on weight. At the very worst, keep the treats until New Year's Eve, but then get rid of them.

It is this idea of only indulging on specific days or over a short period of time that makes indulging okay. If every time there is a holiday season, you eat treats and sweets for a several weeks or a month, it will have an overall negative effect on your health over time.

Also, eat the "real food" first: protein, vegetables, grains. If you indulge on an empty stomach, you not only eat more, but the treats will affect your system in a way to promotes cravings later that day and even the following few days. Also, fiber binds to some of the fat in your stomach and takes it out in your stool. So lots of veggies.
